- Construction & Maintenance Man
Description
I. Summary
To perform building construction and maintenance on properties owned, leased or serviced by the employer. Performs other construction maintenance duties not in conflict with duties reserved to other classes of employees.
II. Reporting Relationships
* Report to: Construction & Maintenance Foreman
* Directs: Maintenance Helper
III. Performs Personally
* Construction, additions, remodeling, repairs, maintenance and installation or removal of structures, or properties owned or leased by the employer.
* Layout and construction of wood foundations, forms and concrete structures.
* Remove, replace or repair consumer-owned properties or structures.
* Keeps proficient in operation and care of vehicles, equipment and tools used in building construction and maintenance.
* Responsible for inventory, storage, and general upkeep of all hand and power tools used in building construction and maintenance.
* Read and interpret maps, specifications, drawings, and blueprints relating to daily work and comply with all applicable specifications and codes.
* Performs all work with knowledge of hazards that exist. Properly uses protective and safety equipment. Maintains knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques and emergency procedures.
* Works closely with and directs work of Maintenance Man and Construction and Maintenance Helper.
* Moves, repairs, maintains, and constructs office furniture and furnishings and equipment as assigned.
* Performs snow removal of Chugach's Anchorage office parking lots, entrances, pathways,
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
IV. Relationships
A. Internal
* Manager, Administrative Services, and Foreman: Reports to, receives direction, guidance, and decisions. Keeps Manager and Foreman informed of progress and problems.
* Other Association personnel when necessary.
B: External
* Vendors, contractors and consumers as required: Discharges duties in a proper and business-like manner being courteous and considerate of others.
V. Job Qualifications
Education:
High School graduation or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of four years in the construction or building maintenance trades.
Abilities and Skills:
Must be fully skilled and qualified to work in the construction or building maintenance trades.
Other Requirements:
Valid Alaska Driver's License. Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificate or State of Alaska approved equal. Other certifications may be required by the State and/or Municipality of Anchorage for the work performed by this classification.
