POSITION OVERVIEW
PFM is currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Senior Project Manager (internally titled Director or Senior Managing Consultant, depending on experience/qualifications) in our Treasury Consulting practice. The successful candidate will work with Treasury Consulting clients across the country in public sector, higher education, and healthcare institutions. Travel will be required as client needs dictate.
Candidates will be expected to successfully operate in the specialized field of Treasury Consulting, and be nimble in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in which they are given significant responsibility. To be successful, one must have a superior understanding of financial management, experience working in public sector or nonprofit treasury operations, advisory services, banking, and/or consulting, and a demonstrated ability to manage professional staff and grow a business plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include the following:
1. Client Consultation

Assess client treasury operations
-
Make recommendations for operational enhancements to treasury operations
-
Educate clients on industry and cash management trends
-
Advise on the use of banking services to meet current or future needs
-
Prepare and present reports/recommendations, as appropriate
2. RFP Management
-
Prepare RFPs on behalf of clients for banking and related cash management services
-
Review and score proposals submitted by banks
-
Perform quantitative assessment of the economics of bank proposals
-
Advise clients on the advantages and disadvantages of proposing banks
-
Assist clients to select “short list” of banks to be interviewed
-
Attend and participate in interviews with finalist banks
-
Negotiate fees and other contract terms with finalist banks
-
Review bank contracts and agreements with regard to business terms
3. Marketing
-
Identify prospects for Company’s treasury consulting services
-
Facilitate marketing efforts by organizing resources
-
Speak at industry conferences and training events
4. General Management and Administrative Responsibilities
-
Serve as the project manager for assigned projects, guiding and supervising other professional and administrative team members
-
Manage assigned Company resources in an efficient and cost-effective way
-
Support the professional development and of Company team members through coaching, training, mentoring, and leadership

Serve as a resource to Company employees on banking and industry topics
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates come from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds.
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

At least seven (7) years of work experience, preferably in the public sector or nonprofit institutional consulting, treasury management, banking, trust or financial services arena(s), demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility. Knowledge of and contacts within public sector and/or nonprofit treasury management and banking are expected. Standing as a Certified Treasury Professional desirable.

Candidate should be knowledgeable and experienced within a broad range of treasury and cash management areas, including: account structure, cash concentration, collection/disbursement processes and services, fraud prevention tools, online reporting, banking technology, and other related services (e.g. merchant card processing, purchasing cards, institutional custody).

Excellent quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills required.

Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and serves as a strong role model for other team members. Acts as a valuable, collaborative team player, willing to take on a variety of roles within a team including leader, follower, and facilitator. Actively promotes team success and encourages others to contribute to the greater good. Experience managing other finance professionals in a professional setting is necessary.
