We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated team member to serve as a Project Engineer with a Nevada Professional Civil Engineer License. This person will work alongside and assist project managers and lead and mentor design staff. The individual will provide administrative and technical oversight on engineering/construction projects from concept development through final acceptance by the client.
The engineering design and construction projects may vary from large to small projects with many complex features. Individual should be able to maintain client relations and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
While other duties may be assigned, the ideal candidate will have experience performing the following Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversight of technical studies, submittals, plans and general design for public works projects and private developments through knowledge as a licensed engineer.
Complete project initiation documents, which include detailed work scope/outline, budget, and schedule for completion.
Ensure design and construction work is performed based on standard engineering principles, county, state and federal laws and regulations, and that all work is completed as planned, budgeted, and scheduled.
Complete engineering calculations, drainage studies, grading plans, utility engineering, and other technical analysis as required.
Assist the Project Manager in managing the budget, schedule, and daily activities.
Manage and support staff on project-specific tasks as required, including oversight and evaluating individual work performance.

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s of Science degree in appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited university. Minimum of six (6) years of experience in civil engineering. Individuals with structural and roadway design experience are encouraged to apply, and a broad background in engineering is desired. Experience as a project engineer or project manager for commercial development desired, but not required. AutoCAD Civil 3D design experience desired.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Nevada state Professional Civil Engineer license. If not licensed in NV, must become licensed within 4 months of hire. Good working knowledge of CAD software, ESRI GIS software, and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project). Valid driver’s license.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral communications. Must be able to read and comprehend detailed correspondence and reports.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and to improvise solutions to challenging problems.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, stretch, and lift. Employee must have specific vision abilities to include close and distance vision, full color vision, and ability to adjust focus working with computer and business equipment. Work can require moderate physical exertion with long periods of sitting or standing; lifting up to 30 lbs. Individual may be required to visit construction sites with limited accessibility and must be willing to travel for short durations.
Primary work location will be in a professional office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. The individual is expected to comply with the company core values: Integrity, Quality, and Efficiency and must be capable of working independently.
Work is performed throughout the United States. This position may require travel within the continental US to support contracts. Travel is expected to account for no more than 20% of the time for this position.
