Chao & Associates is a growing, boutique civil and structural engineering firm in Columbia, SC. The firm, founded in 1987, specializes in structural engineering, civil engineering, land surveying and asbestos surveying.

We are seeking a Civil Engineer / Designer to join our civil and surveying team. At, Chao & Associates, we pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative culture where the focus is on delivering the best customer service every time.

Responsibilities/Skills

The responsibilities of the role span a variety of technical site design tasks and inspection work connected to engineering projects from concept through construction. This role will be responsible for design of grading, storm water management, water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, pump station and coordinating permit application. This candidate will perform design functions using Civil 3D.

Qualifications                                                                                  

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree required
• Two to three years minimum Civil design experience
• Relevant design experience using Civil 3D software
• PE licensure or on track to obtain PE licensure
