City Engineer

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a host of planning and project delivery efforts that range from traditional road preservation and utility upgrades, to cutting-edge sustainable transportation projects.  Additionally, the candidate will be able to develop new strategies and tools for planning and executing projects, and will be encouraged to take a creative approach to engaging the community in the work.
 
Projects upcoming in the next two years include the construction of federally-funded pedestrian and non-motorized improvements and planning for the replacement of the one of the City's primary water system reservoirs with a new water tower structure.
 
 The ideal candidate will have: 

• Construction, engineering and/or extensive field experience with a wide range of transportation and utility improvement projects;
• Strong team and project management skills; and
• Clear and concise communication skills suited for a broad range of audiences, with the ability to be sensitive to political and inter-personal dynamics.
