We are a fully remote office and our client base is in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. We are interested in candidates nationwide who could work virtually for up to six months while arranging to relocate permanently to our client base area. During non-pandemic times, we have frequent in-person client meetings and provide in-person support for our clients. Meetings are now mostly virtual, but field work can be required on short notice.
Even during the pandemic, our project portfolio has grown. That’s why we’re looking to hire a highly qualified Traffic/Planning Managing Leader like you.
To be successful, you need deep and broad experience in traffic or transportation program planning and operations. You should also have special expertise in one or more niche areas, such as:
Traffic operations analysis
Traffic flow theory
Data processing and validation

As a Traffic/Planning Managing Leader, you would lead multiple client contracts with several task orders in the following areas:
The intersection of traffic engineering and planning
We are looking for a strong Traffic/Planning Managing Leader who can maintain a big-picture view to connect projects and activities with client and company goals.
As Traffic/Planning Managing Leader, you will:
Provide staff management, project management, and technical expertise on projects
Maintain client satisfaction by meeting needs and exceeding expectations
Ensure backlog for staff, bringing in new and repeat business
Contribute to company processes, including team meetings, hiring, and business development
Develop project and work plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources
Collaborate with a strong management team
Manage a high-quality team of direct reports, including guiding their career growth plans
Mentor traffic engineers and planners to enable them to contribute at their highest potential
We provide an effective toolbox to help Traffic/Planning Managing Leaders succeed, including training, backlog management, and a project management standard.
Bachelor of science in civil engineering, electrical engineering, urban planning, or other transportation planning
Professional Engineering (PE) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
10 years’ relevant experience
Comprehensive understanding of traffic and transportation engineering principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices
Project management experience
Effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
Valid driver’s license
Related master’s degree
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification or Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) certification
Track record of winning new and repeat work in a competitive consulting environment
Experience with Apple applications
Proficiency with ArcGIS
Proficiency with Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, or other transportation modeling and simulation software
Experience with Rybinski Engineering clients (e.g., DelDOT, PennDOT, MDTA)
