Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for an Area Mechanic who will apply knowledge and skills to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure optimal operation of campus buildings. This position performs preventative maintenance on a variety of systems including building air and control air, air handling, hot water, and building reheat and radiation. This position makes minor repairs on electrical equipment, appliances, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, andÂ HVACÂ equipment and controls. Responsible for maintaining accurate records in accordance with departmental guidelines. The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and positively with others. Must also have the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks according to departmental guidelines.
