Position Summary: The project manager will coordinate and execute laboratory studies in synthetic organic chemistry, oversee compliance and safety management, train incoming laboratory staff including students and postdocs; monitor quality of analytical data collected in the lab by all personnel, verify inventory and oversee data analysis, assist with preparation of progress reports and manuscripts, write protocols, and maintain lab equipment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 70%- Lab Manager Manage daily lab operations to ensure that all laboratory processes are carried out efficiently and safely. Oversee ordering, prepare and oversee budgets for projects. Verify inventory and make sure that all new reagents and personal compounds inventory are updated monthly. Organize and maintain the laboratory and its equipment. Monitor quality of all analytical data, including NMR, MS, HPLC, and other analytical data collected in the lab. Manage and maintain detailed records of work performed. Write protocols for all lab equipment and train new students and postdocs. Resolve administrative problems as they arise.
20%- Execute Experiments Coordinate and execute laboratory studies in synthetic organic chemistry. Maintain the lab equipment and assign people to be responsible for certain equipment. With help of PI, editing of manuscripts and grant writing.
10%- Data Management Oversee the data management practices, data collection, data entry, and appropriate data storage.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in (medicinal chemistry or related discipline, preferred) and 2 years of related experience or BS/BA (in medicinal chemistry or related discipline, preferred) and 4 years of related experience. Knowledge of analytical equipment including NMR, HPLC and LC-MS is required. Ability to communicate to a diverse audience both written and oral. Strong leadership and lab management skills. Previous supervisory experience. Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team. Strong personal commitment to ensure that the lab operates effectively, efficiently and safely.
