Solebury School seeks an experienced, full-time Biology teacher for the 2021-22 school year, starting approximately August 23, 2021. A qualified candidate will have experience teaching Biology, ideally in a private school setting. Solebury School is open to the possibility of making this a part-time position.
Teach 3 sections of Biology and 1 section of Honors Biology
Lead two trimesters of after-school activities
Be on duty several weekends overseeing boarding students
Serve as an Advisor to a group of students
Contribute to the Solebury community outside of the classroom i.e. leading a club, attending events
Bachelor’s Degree in Science
Demonstrated experience teaching Biology
A passion for working with students of all abilities
Ability to collaborate within and beyond the department
Innovative beyond the textbook
Communicate ideas and expectations clearly
Inspire students to set and rise to rigorous expectations
Maintain close relationships with families
Committed to continuing professional development
A Master’s Degree in Science-related field
Experience teaching students in high school
Boarding and/or independent school experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to exert physical effort in work, including stooping, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing of materials weighing up to 30 pounds
Valid driver’s license required as well as ability to pass a variety of background checks
