Global Wealth Management Operations provides brokerage, investment and financial services to hundreds of thousands of individual investors. Alternative Investment (AI) Operations supports the operational processing for ensuring clients who look to invest in the funds offered by MSSB Alternative Investments Group are able to do so in accordance with the terms and time frames set forth by the fund. Similarly, the AI Operations group supports ensuring clients who look to redeem out of or transfer their AI position do so in accordance with the funds cutoff. The products offered are Hedge Funds, Funds of Funds, Exchange Funds, Private Equity, Real-estate Funds as well as Custom Portfolio of funds.
Alternative Investments Product Management is the relationship manager to the fund managers and Financial Advisor teams. Team members maintain an understanding of the funds on the platform to provide insight regarding any product related questions. There is on-going exposure to Senior Management, Fund Managers, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Product Development/Origination and GIMA.
Product Management specific responsibilities: - Partner closely with proprietary and third party alternative investment on-platform fund managers to assess and communicate post-sale fund performance, business development updates, fund investment pipeline, strategic investment opportunities and market outlook for Private Wealth/Financial Advisors - Financial Advisor coverage based on a specific geographical location - Work closely with Internal & External Sales, Product Development/Origination, Legal, Compliance and Operations to formulate and deliver product updates/enhancements - Maintain all fund material on the internal alternatives website to ensure the most recent reporting and information are available to Financial Advisors - Draft and send field communications regarding fund updates and developments - Host fund update calls with fund managers and Financial Advisors - Publish documents to a portal for Financial Advisors and investors
General responsibilities: - Maintain relationships with Fund Managers and Business Partners - Provide premier operational services to Financial Advisors - Ability to multi-task between high volume of Financial Advisors requests/calls and other tasks/projects - Ad hoc projects and reports required by management
- Bachelor's degree required - 4-6 years of experience in financial services industry - Alternative investment experience is required - Client service experience - Excellent communication ? verbal, written and listening skills - Ability to multitask under tight deadlines - Self-motivated with a high degree of attention to detail - Ability to adapt in fast paced environment with focus on innovation and flexibility - Team player with the ability to work effectively in a team or independently - Demonstrated relationship building skills with stakeholders, peers and all levels of management - Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) - Ability to work with large data sets in Excel
