Previous experience working with Unions is required.
Reporting to the Director, Employee/Labor Relations and Performance Management, the Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of best practice programs, policies, and processes that ensure the Company's compliance with EEO, federal, and state employment laws. Additional responsibilities include supporting all phases of employee/labor relations and performance management activities, supporting union avoidance activities, ensuring quality operations of human resource processes, and providing direction, guidance, and support to leaders and staff for specified geographic areas, business unit, etc.
Handle routine employee/labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements, including union avoidance activities. Refer complex matters to appropriate Employee Relations staff.
Serve as the initial contact and liaison for team member questions, feedback, and concerns.
Conduct initial meetings and gather information for employee/labor relations matters such as harassment allegations, work concerns, and formal Convercent complaints, and engage appropriate Employee Relations staff when additional investigation is required.
Collect information and data to assess cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, NLRA, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources/employee relations.
Assist with preparation of all documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee/labor organizations.
Support the application of established human resources programs and special projects, including the performance management program.
Work in conjunction with Compensation to ensure locations are Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliant.
Effectively utilize and navigate the company's various systems, and partner appropriately with various support teams throughout Greystar in order to execute duties properly.
