Responsible for the development, implementation and administration of a trade compliance and customs related requirements and programs. Develop and implement an ongoing grade compliance programs that drives global and regional accountability in Stryker locations for compliance with government import and export regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Initiate, lead and implement initiatives to ensure that all Stryker locations are compliant with relevant trade regulations. Activities include: Global and EMEA Trade Compliance strategic projects, strategic trade compliance analyses, customs shared Service center activities, duty reduction, KPI management and reporting to drive and achieve targets.
Develop and lead the execution of a global import and export self-auditing programs to ensure transactional compliance and to assess risk areas of the Stryker activities
Develop, implement and continuously improve processes, procedures and work instructions to pursue an efficient and compliant environment.
Create and maintain Global Trade Compliance procedures.
Develop internal audit programs to ensure that all Stryker importing and exporting sites comply with established procedures and that gaps are properly addressed and escalated to drive resolution.
Escalate Customs service failures to Logistics Service Providers to drive immediate improvements. Analyze and implement improvement across organization.
Develop controls to manage the proper and expedient resolution of any Customs or Ministry of Health inquiries, requests for information, audits and disclosures.
Manage EMEA Trade questions requiring internal and external legal support.
Establish and implement global and regional processes to ensure communication processes are continuously, clearly and regularly socialized among for all Stryker locations across the world.
Initiate projects that will drive further Trade Compliance, control, and efficiency globally.
Remain updated with international and local trade compliance regulations as they may apply to Stryker.
Conduct training and education sessions that are congruent with the strategic direction of Global Trade Management
Participate in external education opportunities, such as conferences and seminars on Trade Compliance related topics.
Work closely with the Global Trade Management team to balance divisional needs with the overall Trade Compliance strategies and projects.
Support the integration processes of new acquisitions to ensure Trade Compliance programs are properly and effectively implemented.
Qualifications & Work Experience Required:
7+ years relevant work experience in Trade Compliance related area, preferably in the EMEA region
Proven ability within Trade regulations, logistics, operations and project management
Experience with Trade Management Systems
Experience in Medical Device industry or comparable industry a plus
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience strongly preferred
Strong industry knowledge across multiple EMEA countries
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships around the region / world
Proven ability to negotiate effective solutions
Strategic planning, problem solving and tactical implementation skills
Effective leadership, team building, mentoring, and oral/written communication skills
Ability to deal with decentralized teammates and influence across a regional team
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects to short deadlines
