Under the general supervision of the Manager, Plant Operations Plumber, installs, repairs, maintains and tests equipment used in plumbing and heating of the hospital and associated buildings. Threads and installs pipes, sets and secures plumbing fixtures and equipment, connects traps, valves and associated equipment. All work and related duties are to be performed in compliance with local and state codes
SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Able to work appropriately with persons of varied ages, racial, ethnic and sociological backgrounds.
Skill and proficiency to read, write and perform mathematical calculations and measurements as normally required through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
Must know how to read blueprints, construction specifications, drawings and layout; bend, cut, thread and assemble pipe and fixtures; install and maintain high pressure equipment and plumbing as normally acquired through completion of a 3 year apprenticeship, vocational or trade school or equivalent on-the-job training.
Familiarity of local, state and national plumbing codes and ordinances as they relate to a hospital facility, and the ability to interpret them.
General knowledge of plumbing and related piping systems, and to read and use blueprints/schematics as normally acquired through a 3 year apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a 3 year apprenticeship, vocational or trade school or equivalent on-the-job training.
Prior healthcare related Plumbing Experience is preferred.
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license for required.
Current state Plumber license preferred, Master Level.
