Strong mechanical background; must be licensed trades, with (5) years??? experience in trade.
Must be able to work with outside contractors and vendors
Operates and maintains reverse osmosis system.
Active member of the Chemical Response Team.
Works with all outside agencies performing inspections.
Performs all minor renovations and installations as directed by the Facilities Department.
Must be familiar with telephone and data cabling systems to coordinate changes and repairs with appropriate technicians.
Performs general maintenance such as changing light bulbs, repairing floor tiles, ceiling tile replacement, etc.
May be required to perform shipping and receiving at the loading dock and enter information into DFCI receiving Department???s computer database when needed.
May be required to deliver packages to the designated areas and forward the associated paperwork to DFCI receiving department when needed.
Responsible for maintaining records of work done, time records and P/M records through the CMMS system.
Maintain and repair steam boiler in absence of Dry Dock Building Operator
Must always provide the highest level of personal safety protection.
Able to identify and correct mechanical problems as they arise.
Must be able to perform emergency generator tests and compile appropriate documentation.
Responsible for PH neutralizing system???s operation and documentation.
Responsible for cleanliness and set up of all conference rooms, including audio-visual equipment and other supplies.
May be required to perform outside normal job areas at the direction of his supervisor in the interest of a safe environment.
Will be required to be on-call and will act as a back up to the other building operators.
Must keep mechanical floors neat and orderly each day.
Other duties as assigned.
This position has no direct reports. Indirect supervision only.
Wastewater operator level II, 2nd class fireman/ 3rd class engineer license, or construction supervisor license preferred
Requires two of the preferred licenses
Required to have experience pertaining to all building utility system operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be ???self-starter??? with high degree of initiative to correct mechanical problems as they arise.
Mechanical knowledge of occupational machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety on the job for the protection of people, data, property, and the institution.
The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule, procedure, or guideline.
Must possess enough manual dexterity to utilize tools of the trade.
The ability to communicate, listen, and comprehend information and ideas and work collaboratively with others.
This position may have direct and indirect patient contact.
Handles light materials most of the day, medium to heavy materials frequently. Works in a strained position half of the day, on feet most all of day.?? Must possess enough manual dexterity to utilize tools of the trade; hearing, visual, and speaking ability should be adequate to communicate, understand technical information, and perform work.?? Some exposure to noise and dust will be encountered.
