Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Plant Operations is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating activities relating to all facility engineering services and plant operations, remodeling and construction, maintenance, repair, upgrading, and functioning of the physical plant facilities of Wesley Medical Center and Galichia Heart Hospital (interior, exterior and grounds) of the hospital and hospital-owned buildings in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, and established hospital policies and procedures. The Director is responsible for preventative maintenance and coordination of unscheduled maintenance of all hospital and affiliated buildings and equipment, mechanical, electrical, dialysis, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC systems.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience as a Manager or Director of Facilities within a large hospital, preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills
Must be proficient in all subjects related to Facility Operations (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operating engineer, remodeling and construction, finance & management)
Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and Li fe Safety Codes, NFPA, EPA, UBC, CMS, KDHE, ci ty and state fire regulations
Working knowledge of Kansas Healthcare Facility Regulations
Computer literate: MS Office programs, Data Entry; Spreadsheets and ability to learn support software programs
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
