Under the general guidance of the Director of Sciences Technology Services, this position will serve as the Apple Systems Support Coordinator for the College of Sciences. Primary responsibilities are to manage, deploy, support, and secure the Apple systems in the College supporting instruction, research, and operations. The incumbent will install and support Apple operating systems, software installations, and use Jamf to manage, configure, and deploy systems. This position will also provide consultation to Faculty and Staff to design IT systems to best meet their operational needs and goals.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits-eligible, probationary position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Education and Experience
To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in operating systems programs, maintenance, and systems administration features is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and/or experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Operating Systems Analyst include a working knowledge of the assigned computer operating systems, systems analysis, and systems-level programming.
Incumbents at this level work relatively independently and possess the experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all the work assignments defined for their position. Typically, incumbents have acquired the requisite skills and knowledge through a combination of education, training, and progressive work experience to be able to demonstrate competence in independently applying technical judgment to standard and nonstandard applications and systems, solving a wide range of problems and developing practicable and thorough solutions, and using effective communication and listening skills.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $6,000 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,372 - $10,792 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
