As assigned by Supervisor or Workleader, perform all duties and responsibilities of the Heavy Cleaner position with full responsibility for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas and also assists in building preparation for events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in building preparation for events, such as field and court setup, setting stage, sound wings, hanging curtains, setting chairs, covering floor and other related tasks for these preparations.
Sets up VIP, Media & Caterers’ Room with equipment and supplies needed for all events in those areas.
Hangs and rolls banners and signs whenever and wherever needed for events.
Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds and walls, and prunes shrubs and trees using hand and power equipment.
Rakes or sweeps grass and litter and remove same.
Removes snow and ice from walks, steps, driveways, etc. and applies salt if necessary in assigned areas.
Performs general building maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
Utilizes the university’s computerized maintenance management system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school or vocational school diploma or equivalent.
Current Pennsylvania Driver’s License – Class I; truck driving experience with the ability to operate manual and automatic shift vehicles up to and including two-ton capacity;
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Physical ability to perform the position duties including the ability to lift 70lbs. without assistance to remove flooring or perform other tasks.
Ability and willingness to work outdoors.
Knowledge of power tools, methods and materials used in planting and grounds maintenance.
General custodial experience including hard surface floor care and use of scrubbers, buffers and carpet machines.
Ability to operate tow motor and manlift as needed.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications and programs.
Ability to work well with others.
Willingness to work shifts as necessary, including overtime and holidays.
Willingness and ability to follow instructions; handle related work as required; and accept various assignments.
Integrity and dependability.
