Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is seeking qualified faculty for a full-time, tenure-track position in Biology, with a preference for a background in Biotechnology. BCTC seeks faculty who value the academic success of their students and who love to teach.
Primary teaching responsibilities would include general Biology and Biotechnology courses and associated labs but may also include other subjects within the field of Biology depending upon the successful candidate's qualifications. Previous experience teaching at the college level preferred. This position requires flexibility of scheduling which may include evenings and weekends on a variety of campuses and online teaching. The position is a 10-month faculty position working from August to May each academic year.
Teach transferable, non-majors/majors Biology lectures and laboratories.
Teach Biotechnology lectures and laboratories.
Set up lab exams.
Develop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.
Use computer technology in lecture and laboratory instruction to enhance student learning.
Work closely with biology faculty, biotechnology staff, and workforce solutions.
Assist part-time adjunct instructors and substitutes for absent instructors as needed.
Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Master's in Biology with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in biology or related disciplines.
Previous experience teaching at the college level preferred.
