The Deloitte Audit Project Management (DAPM) team is seeking qualified individuals (Audit & Assurance Seniors) to join the DAPM team in a career destination role. The DAPM Senior role is focused on driving consistent adoption of the DAPM project management principles and tools on audit engagements in order to improve team effectiveness and efficiency, and to deliver high quality audits. DAPM Project Managers serve as trusted advisors to their audit engagement teams - assisting them in developing and managing their audit project plans and with engagement economics. In addition to executing upon their project management responsibilities, Project Managers also act as change-agents for Audit Methodology Updates, Innovation tools, alternative delivery methods (e.g., delivery centers) and data analytics - identifying opportunities for teams to improve adoption; and then assisting with implementation.
Location: Any US city with a Deloitte Office- periodic travel to client engagements is typically required.
DAPM utilizes a risk-based approach, employed by experienced professionals, combined with comprehensive methodologies, and deep technical resources. DAPM services combine competency and experience in the areas of financial reporting, risk management, operational excellence and compliance.
DAPM provides the "Deloitte Way" of managing projects by defining a standard methodology that includes core principles and behaviors that drive effective project management of an audit engagement. Work You'll Do
As a DAPM Project Manager you will:
Play an integral role in helping to manage our firm's largest and most complex audit engagements and drive them to success.
Build on your project management skills with enhanced training and firm-sponsored Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Continue to serve on audit engagement team(s), with chargeable hours. Manage your own portfolio of engagements based on the terms agreed to by you, in conjunction with engagement and DAPM leadership.
Become part of the exciting new Audit Transformation Delivery team that is transforming the way we deliver audits.
Establish project management protocols and processes with the team.
Develop the engagement team's project plan, including defining key audit milestones, activities and team member assignments.
Review & Analyze Information to Identify Issues and Reprioritize Work
Manage the team's project plan; Monitor and report on engagement status.
Monitor and assist with various aspects of engagement financials.
Track receipt of PBEs.
Work with the team to identify, document, track, and resolve issues.
Provide engagement leaders increased visibility into issues.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related area (advanced degree is preferred).
PMP Certification is a plus. If not already certified, candidates will be expected to obtain their certification within one year (firm-sponsored training is provided).
CPA is a plus.
Minimum of 2-3 years public accounting or related experience is required.
Big-4 and/or experience in a professional services firm is a plus. Experience leading and directing the work of others.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines.
Strong relationship and team-building skills; ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work within a virtual team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to propose and communicate solutions, and drive issues to resolution.
Ability to manage upward and command the time and respect of engagement leadership.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed (frequency is dependent on the office location and engagement assignments).
Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with PowerBI is a plus.
