Under direction, directs and manages the operational functions of the Cooperative which includes, but is not limited to: supervising outside operations staff, coordinating contractors, preparing monthly reports and a variety of other operational services. Prepares budgets, forecasts and reconciles monthly expenses in accordance with established policies, procedures and plans.
Collaborates with other staff to develop methods to provide effective and efficient daily operations.
Analyzes financial trends, budget variances and performs calculations to determine the incremental cost of fuel and incremental energy rate.
Manages budget for Operations.
Assists in the preparation of annual fuel budget.
Performs management functions of organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling the activities of assigned areas of responsibility in accordance with established policies, plans and objectives.
Investigates accidents, determines cause, administers discipline when needed and takes corrective action to eliminate future occurrences.
Recommends capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment increasing efficiency and services provided.
Enforces compliance of assigned personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.
Promotes safety and safe work practices in accordance with safety rules and industry standards.
Pursues developments in procedures, practices, methods and equipment to improve productivity, safety and employee morale.
Develops annual capital additions budget and operation and maintenance budget based on current conditions.
Conducts monthly safety meetings and participate in the safety committee.
Negotiates contracts with equipment and material suppliers and is responsible for overseeing the contracts.
Acts as representative before government commissions or regulatory bodied during hearings.
Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's in related field is preferred
5 years supervisory experience required
Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical generation required
