The Student Hourly Assistant, under general supervision, will assist the Department of Mechanical Engineering by providing assistance with computer lab operations. Â The student will assist with keeping up with the maintenance of computer labs and classroom equipment such as projectors and screens. Also, assist with annual laboratory inventory, as well as being trained to conduct maintenance on hardware. This job will require heavy lifting.
Assisting, designing, assembling, and testing equipment.
Moving equipment such as computers (but not limited to) around as needed to fit the needs of the College of Engineering.
Making sure all labs are in good working condition at all times/report all incidents to the immediate supervisor.
Setting up for department events and other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
