Administrative support for the CLAS Office of Advising and Student Services.
Support for the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Success as well as the Assistant Dean for Student Support Services. This is the first point of contact for students and other visitors, therefore duties include applying a high level of accurate information to answer questions.
Provide advice to students, CLAS Department Chairs, Directors of Undergraduate Studies, Undergraduate Coordinators, faculty and faculty advisors, among others, on University policies and procedures.
Preparation of documents and reports, the use of office technology, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greeting/referring/assisting visitors/clients/staff/others, mail distribution, and photocopying and scanning.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and two years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in student services at a university, dean's office, or department level in a college or university setting. - Experience using Banner or other related student information system. - Prior administrative assistant experience. - Customer service experience. - Ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, and university staff. - Strong computer software skills including knowledge of MS Office Suite and Google Suite. - Strong written and oral communication skills.
