Assists with the daily administration and coordination of the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center Front Office department, including Front Desk, Reservations, Parking Facilities, and other assigned guest service areas of the hotel; interviews, hires, schedules, trains, and supervises Front Office team members; oversees hotel guest check in and out and assists with monitoring hotel guest activity and satisfaction, answers questions, resolves complaints, and responds to suggestions to ensure outstanding guest service; serves as a liaison with guests, vendors, and other University departments to provide outstanding hotel service; monitors front office processes and procedures; monitors VIP and group activity; facilitates staff meetings; prepares daily front office reports and assigns work to team members.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational, trade or business school with coursework in a field related to hospitality business; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in hotel operations; one to three years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with hotel computer systems including Opera, Saflok, B4checkin, and Kipsu; experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, LGBTQIA+ and gender backgrounds.
