The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a full time position to work within the division of Pulmonary Hypertension Center within the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. This position will support the department by providing clinical care within the outpatient practice of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center in Pediatric Cardiology.
Will work collaboratively with Physicians, NP peers, Registered Nurses, Research Coordinators, other members of the multidisciplinary care team, and administrative support staff.
Render direct patient care during outpatient office hours including but not limited to: obtaining patients' history, performing comprehensive and targeted physical examinations, ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests, and diagnosing/managing chronic as well as acute patient problems.
Responsible for counseling/educating patients and their caregivers on disease processes and care management as needed.
Will be engaged in all aspects of patients' clinical care and work with other members of the care team to provide seamless care across all venues including outpatient, inpatient and clinical research venues.
Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Bachelor???s degree in Nursing or equivalent in education and experience required; plus four years of related experience
Minimum Education requirement (1.5 years of related experience for each year of education may be used to fulfill education requirements.)
Previous experience as NP
Cardiology experience a plus
Current NYS NP License, maintain and renew when necessary(NP???s are Required to have a NYS license to qualify for the position)
