Reporting to the Administrative Chief Engineer, the Chief Watch Engineer will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining high pressure boilers and ancillary equipment. This is a hands-on, working foreman position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
â€¢Operate and maintain all equipment in the plant and central utilities for a 3 million square foot campus. â€¢Inspect and troubleshoot issues, making major and emergency repairs as needed. â€¢At a journeymen level, overhaul and rebuild high pressure fire tube steam boilers, auxiliary equipment for centrifugal chillers, steam PRV stations, centrifugal pumps, heat exchangers, valves, piping in the plant, as well as building heating and cooling systems supplied by Hofstraâ€™s Central Power Plant. â€¢Demonstrate an understanding of rigging / material handling as required for above. â€¢Schedule shifts and delegate work to six watch engineers, mechanics and two HVAC control technicians in the Central Power Plant as needed, ensuring the completion of assigned duties.
Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 3:00PM, however ability to work scheduled overtime and stay for emergency repairs on all shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.
