The Radiology Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for representing the Department of Radiology as the public face of the Imaging Centers and work closely with the administrative, clinical and managements teams to support practice operations and customer service recovery and intervention efforts. The administrator is a self-reliant individual who synthesizes their knowledge of practice operations in order to problem solve, prioritize, and facilitate complex transactions in the course of their daily activities to consistently provide superior customer service. The Radiology Administrative Assistant facilitates routine clerical operations in the following areas of support; Front Desk and Imaging Library/Reading Rooms. Responsibilities include attention to details, registration and scheduling Radiology examinations using APeX and Radiant (RIS), accurate use of Life Image Application, PacsCube, PACS, insurance verification , ICD 10, CPT/exam code, creating and attaching referrals/authorizations, and knowledge of Radiology procedures.
The Radiology Administrative Assistant is a team player who works closely with others and who is flexible in dealing with the changing priorities. S/he adheres to the UCSF House and Telephone Standards and is considerate to the needs of our patients, their families, staff, and physicians with every encounter. This position facilitates outpatient and inpatient care setting by providing excellent customer service and ensuring the accuracy of the information flow between hospital staff and departments to maximize unit efficiency. The Radiology administrator is required to work at any UCSF campus as needed when scheduled. A high degree of proficiency and professionalism are essential.
