The Pediatric Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner will deliver comprehensive healthcare under the clinical supervision of the Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - Oakland/San Francisco and under the administrative supervision of the Director of Pediatric Critical Care at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - San Francisco. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team of providers to care for patients in the Pediatric Cardiac Transitional Care Unit and in all inpatient areas that care for pediatric cardiothoracic surgery patients. Care is also provided in the outpatient clinic, via telehealth, and potentially in the operating room (depending on departmental need, experience, and interest). In the clinic and inpatient areas, the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, evaluation, planning, teaching, and case management of preoperative and postoperative cardiothoracic surgery patients. The Nurse Practitioner will primarily work at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - San Francisco campus and may cross train to the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - Oakland campus or other facilities where our Pediatric Cardiothoracic surgeons operate.
