The Nurse Practitioner Supervisor provides leadership to APP within the surgery department and collaborates with the surgery faculty, lead surgeon for the general surgery APP, and outpatient practice manager. The primary managerial responsibility of the supervisor is to provide professional support to the surgical APPs at Parnassus and Lead surgical APPs so there is alignment with the department of surgery and UCSF Health The primary clinical responsibility is to provide clinical services to outpatient or inpatient surgery patients.
UCSF Health requires all advanced health professionals to be credentialed through the Office of Medical Affairs and Governance in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adults and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical setting at all UCSF Health sites. Credentialing and approval of standardized procedures takes between 90-120 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
