The University of Tennessee, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Department- Knoxville, is accepting applications for an Administrative Specialist III.
This position will be responsible for all personnel processes and entries. This includes, but not limited to: hiring and termination processes; personnel changes, faculty promotion and tenure packets; collection of employee data and submission of paperwork necessary to incorporate new employee into the UT system. This position will also handle paperwork changes for current employees. For faculty promotion and tenure, this position has the primary responsibility for the assembly of the extensive faculty dossier. This position solicits and ensures proper upload of workload forms and sets up the annual evaluation conferences for each faculty member each year. Dealing with personnel requires a complete understanding and knowledge of UT HR policies and procedures.
This position also will be the Graduate Student Coordinator for the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department. In this capacity, the individual will oversee the progress of 55 graduate students and coordinate with 30 EEB faculty advisors through the Graduate Affairs Committee and the Graduate Recruiting Committee. This individual will be responsible for providing up to date knowledge regarding policies and timelines to students and faculty and acts as EEB's liason to UTK Graduate School. This position will manage documentation of individual students' history in our graduate program (starting with their initial letter of offer, courses taken, annual committee meetings and e-reports to Graduate Affairs committee, publications, fellowship and research grant support and ending with student's graduation seminars and documents); work directly with faculty to generate data tables to be used in statistical assessment of graduate performance metrics and attend EEB Graduate Affairs and Graduate Recruiting Committee meetings.
This position will be responsible for the entry of monthly timesheet and effort certifications in IRIS.
This position will supervise front desk personnel and student workers; provide backup for front desk duties.
This position will serves as backup for departmental IRIS reviewer.
