Capital City Country Club is an 18 hole layout designed by A.W.Tillinghast in the 1930's. The club is right Downtown and the State Capitol is visible from a few holes. The club is member owned and operated. Membership is extremely appreciative of maintenance staff which has helped create a very positive working environment.
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to manage all aspects of the golf course and facility grounds. This will include, but is not limited to, crew management, pesticide/fertilizer applications, directing job assignments, course setup, staff training, hiring, moisture management, irrigation repair, drainage repair/installation, and overseeing/correcting quality of work.
2+ years golf course experience required
2 or 4 year turf degree preferred, but not required
Supervisory experience preferred, but not required
A four-year college degree preferred, but not required
GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not required
Basic knowledge of budgeting and expense management
Possess basic computer skills, Word and Excel
Organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
