1. Perform advanced operations of equipment such as using restorers, buffers, auto scrubbers, burnishers, ready space machines for maintaining floors, remove and reapply finish, spot cleaning, extracting carpet, etc.
2. Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, dust and wet mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, disinfecting/sanitizing, etc., to keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
3. Operate and maintain advanced equipment properly in the performance of housekeeping duties, such as using vacuum cleaners, floor machines, restorers, buffers, automatic scrubbers, burnishing machines, etc. for maintaining floors, removing, and reapplying finish, spot cleaning, extracting carpet, etc.
4. Clean and sanitize all fixtures, showers, floors, the exterior of dispensers', door push and kick plates, restroom receptacles, partitions, and rails on a daily basis.
5. Monitor stairwells, entrance areas, and common areas for cleanliness.
6. Dust, mop, and damp the mop as needed.
7. Check regularly for and clean wall spots.
8. Perform high and low dusting.
9. Clean hallway trash and recyclable receptacles.
10. May assist housekeeping services in the performance of more complex duties requiring greater skill and knowledge by cleaning wood, terrazzo, tiles, carpeted, and concrete floors.
11. Ensure that the proper cleaning chemicals are applied; the wax removal process is completed correctly, application processes are used, and the proper methods are used to clean expensive carpeting.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, one year of experience demonstrating the ability to follow instructions in operating specialized floor-cleaning or other cleaning equipment and in performing medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
