Position Summary
The Business Operations Associate will manage and coach junior analysts across Berkadia's production platform and will help drive business initiatives to better structure the support environment. This associate will be asked important questions about the business to structure and answer through research, analysis, and partnership with subject matter experts, ultimately resulting in a more cohesive and integrated production support network. The Associate will also support the decision-making process of the Production Operations & Production Leadership teams by crafting insights & recommendations through both qualitative and quantitative data analysis and executing plans to drive organizational improvement.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties (Core Responsibilities) include the following:
- Establish analyst career development tracks
- Define qualitative and quantitative milestones as benchmarks for upward growth
- Outline clear role profiles along each career development track
- Work with production leadership and production support staff team members to understand the value that different roles play on large and small teams, and determine optimal staffing mixes by role allocation
- Work with junior production network team members and their teams to coach on which path might be most appropriate for each team and each team member, both for existing employees and as teams grow
- Manage jr. analysts (typically 1-3 years' experience) across production
- Hold regular check-ins throughout the year with local jr. analysts and their in-office teams to provide mentorship, career development guidance, and performance management discussions
- Identify analysts who are on-track for promotion or move into production. Provide monthly reports to leadership
- Create, implement, and execute key initiatives with a focus on process improvement, e.g.,
- Develop, manage, improve various programs
- Partner with appropriate internal/external organizations to drive people development
- Screen, interview and hire financial analysts in coordination with leadership for teams across production
In addition, other key responsibilities include:
- Develop ways to improve the planning and implementation process of projects, working with other divisions within the firm
- Participate in educational opportunities and continuing education, as approved
- Seek opportunities for innovation via technology adoption and process efficiencies
- Coordinate with recruiting on the interviewing and hiring of financial analysts
- Attend national real estate conferences, as deemed appropriate
- Other related duties as assigned
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises non-supervisory employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications
Qualifications to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the experience required.
Education (minimum requirement)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Preferred Previous Experience
- Three to five years' prior experience in a similar position managing people and projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and motivate others (with or without direct authority); direct people management experience required
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to break down complex problems into critical parts, identify the key causes, and effectively prioritize and execute a way forward
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to positively influence outcomes and ability to work across functions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, delegate, and multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Success working in a team-based environment, collaborating on potentially-conflicting priorities
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Commercial real estate experience or financial analysis experience are preferable, though not required
