Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and development of programs and projects.
2. Develop and manage relationships with customers and service providers.
3. Analyze maintenance data and develop and manage metrics to continuously improve the maintenance effort and all maintenance programs.
4. Manage and continuously improve all relevant data and processes for maintenance management within the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS). Develop methods and solutions to manage data integrity and cleanliness to ensure efficient and effective facilities maintenance and operations.
5. Develop and manage the Reliability Centered Maintenance program.
6. Develop and manage the planned and preventive maintenance program.
7. Develop and manage the Conditions Based Maintenance program.
8. Develop and manage a research lab maintenance program.
9. Research, identify, develop and implement advanced maintenance techniques and new equipment, tools, and materials for use by the maintenance shops.
10. Manage the Project Management support program.
11. Serve as acting Director in his absence.
12. Lead ad-hoc teams in general emergency response situations as assigned by the Director.
13. Perform HR responsibilities as a supervisor.
14. Work with FMHR to develop training to enable the implementation of all programs and projects above.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of general facilities experience preferably with supervision; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be receives from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a technical college with a major in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology and a minimum of four years progressive experience in facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- Graduation from a technical college with a major in engineering technology, industrial maintenance technology, or maintenance management and a minimum of 15 years progressive experience in commercial facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of facilities equipment and systems maintenance management policies, procedures, and technology, and the ability to keep current with developments and trends in the industry.
- Knowledge and experience in supporting the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, control, and structural systems for commercial or industrial buildings.
- Experience scheduling facilities maintenance work orders with a computerized system for a large shop of technicians.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to sort, search and analyze large data sets and willing to learn new computer programs and applications.
- Proficient in the use of computerized maintenance management and asset management database systems like Maximo, Archibus, TMA, ORACLE, SAP, etc. to manage equipment information and work scheduling and completion.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a large maintenance organization and/or operation.
- Prior work experience in a large maintenance organization.
- Experience in working directly with customers and contractors to determine needs while providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension) required.
- Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
- Proficient in the use of web-based HR applications to manage time and attendance, leave, evaluations, pay, hiring, etc.
- Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
- Valid driver's license required. The Crew Manager will operate assigned vehicles on and/or off-campus and is required to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment to the position.
