Experience or education which demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. Proximity to Milwaukee, WI or Madison, WI is preferred.
Job Description:
Summary
The Office of Admissions fulfills Iowa State Universityâs land grant mission by attracting, recruiting, orienting, and enrolling a diverse group of new undergraduate students to meet the universityâs enrollment targets. The Office of Admissions at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for Regional Student Recruiter position for the state of Wisconsin.
As a territory manager, the Regional Admissions Counselorâs purpose is to attract, recruit and enroll prospective students to the university through a variety of methods, including visiting high schools and community colleges, attending college fairs, conducting enrollment presentations, managing recruitment correspondence through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and coordinating and assisting with on- and off-campus recruitment programs. The Regional Admissions Counselor communicates daily with prospective students and families and will manage events designed to develop relationships with high school and community college counselors. This position will also support the broader mission of the Office of Admissions by assisting with general recruitment, including, but not limited to, campus visit days, and events hosted by New Student Programs, such as Orientation and Destination Iowa State activities.
This position offers a unique opportunity to expand Iowa State Universityâs out-of-state recruitment efforts in Wisconsin. Territory assignment will be based on business need and could change annually.
The incumbent must be willing to reside in Wisconsin, and frequently travel within their primary region to visit local schools and colleges. They must also be amenable to attending events and meetings in Ames, Iowa, and other recruitment regions when needed.
This position requires a valid U.S. Driver's License and must be eligible to work in the U.S.
This is a term position expected to end June 30, 2023 and may be renewed annually.
Example of Duties
⢠Recruits prospective students from high schools and community colleges.
⢠Plans events, including student open houses, visits, tours, and off-site receptions.
⢠Travels and gives presentations about the university to student groups.
⢠Participates in the selection process, including review and evaluation of candidates.
⢠Counsels students and parents regarding the admissions process.
⢠Serves as school ambassador to outside groups.
⢠Supports and may develop programs for the college in areas of diversity, equity and inclusion.
