The Opportunity

The Business Operations Associate will support the decision-making process of the Mortgage Banking & Corporate Leadership team by crafting insights & recommendations through analyzing different data sources (both qualitative and quantitative). This associate will be asked important questions about the business to structure and ultimately answer through research, analysis, and help from our subject matter experts. The associate will also have opportunities to help drive the execution of major initiatives.

• Perform financial and variance analysis related to Mortgage Banking products & producers
• Provide information to management by analyzing data to find insights, performing detailed analysis, and delivering possible recommendations or strategies for change
• Analyze Berkadia's footprint and identify markets and teams for Berkadia to recruit
• Assist in driving process improvement and policy development initiatives for both Mortgage Banker and larger, Berkadia-wide initiatives
• Work on ad-hoc projects and analysis as assigned by Mortgage Banking & Corporate Leadership
• Other duties as assigned

What someone will need to be successful in this role

• Someone who is ready to be an owner - can take ambiguous problems, structure them, and determine a path forward, including requesting the resources necessary to accomplish the task
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; advanced experience with Excel
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Ability to manage expectations, informing stakeholders of potential delays due to conflicting priorities
• Can-do, proactive attitude that can mean making suggestions and giving options rather than waiting for answers
• Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels of an organization
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• One to three years prior experience in a similar position.
