The UNC Eshelman Institute for Innovation (EII) fuels transformative change in pharmacy and pharmaceutical science research, education, and health care. Backed by a $100 million commitment from Dr. Fred Eshelman, the EII provides mechanisms for faculty, staff, and students at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in collaboration with multidisciplinary partners to seek funding for bold, transformative ideas and provides opportunities to educate and train interns, students, and postdoctoral fellows. The EII fosters collaboration, creativity, and innovation, and stimulates commercialization of intellectual property and entrepreneurial development.

The Project Manager will manage the execution of the Eshelman Institute's funded projects with a primary focus on project and program execution within the Institute's portfolio. The project manager will work directly with the Eshelman Institute leaders and external stakeholders to lead, manage, and enhance operational workflows and processes around the Eshelman Institute award support. The Project Manager will be the lead team member responsible for monitoring of the Institute's funded research projects including protocol implementation, project planning, project tracking, data collection and curation, and leading in the organization of project report submissions. The Project Manager will be responsible for providing quarterly updates to the Institute leadership, including any successes, failures, or recommended revisions to the project or Institute oversight. Furthermore, the Project Manager will lead PIs in developing research timelines and milestones, attend lab meetings where s/he will manage expectations and timelines, report to the Eshelman Institute leadership team on execution and impact, establish effective communications with key stakeholders, develop new partnerships around the projects, and organize key accountability meetings that will determine whether projects will continue to receive funding or additional commercial support. The Project Manager will also lead the operational execution of the Industry Advisory Board Meetings, including creating agendas, selecting projects to showcase, and directly work with PIs to incorporate board feedback into the research. The Project Manager will serve as subject matter expert on project management tools, resources, and best practices and make decisions on which processes to implement into the Institute's project manager infrastructure.

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
