Job Summary: | The Administrative Assistant provides general support in administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Department of Chemistry Graduate Student Instructional and Research Programs to ensure program effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. |
Responsibilities: | Provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities. - 40% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
- 10% Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, provides organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums
- 35% Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others
- 10% Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
- 5% Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

Education: | Required H.S. Diploma |
Qualifications: | Required: Proficiency with software programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe products Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse populations Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Ability to interpret and to communicate university policies and procedures.

Work Schedule: | 7:45am to 4:30pm M to F, with some flexibility. Occasional nights and weekends will be required. |
