The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic, assigned to the Carpentry Shop within the Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations, works independently or as a team member under the general supervision of the Facility Project Supervisor. The incumbent works as a skilled generalist utilizing journey level skills in carpentry and metalworking trades along with strong skills in other trade areas (mechanical, electrical, painting) to perform a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation work on building and infrastructure systems. Typically, carpentry and metal work skills are utilized to maintain and repair equipment and systems associated with University buildings and infrastructure so as to ensure a clean, safe and attractive campus/learning environment.
