Job Summary: | Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Administration, manage overall day-to-day operations for assigned UW-Madison Division I intercollegiate sport programs. Work closely with head coaches and support staff to elevate the lives of Badger student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations. Duties include: assisting in the day-to-day operations of multiple sport offices; developing annual budgets; ordering supplies and equipment; coordinating travel; assisting with game/practice and facility schedules; serving as a liaison with compliance office ensuring adherence to Big Ten and NCCA rules; serving as a liaison with outside partners such as Anthony Travel, Food & Beverage, Hotel; and other duties as assigned. |
Responsibilities: | Manages team scheduling, travel logistics, budget and maintenance, and monitoring of compliance and athlete eligibility for an intercollegiate athletics program to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the program. - 10% Monitors student-athlete academic eligibility and status to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations
- 20% Evaluates existing strategies, policies, and procedures and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program enhancement; ensures compliance with existing requirements
- 30% Schedules logistics, secures resources, and finalizes team scheduling of facilities and travel for games, practices, camps, clinics, and special events
- 5% Manages the unit or program budget
- 15% May travel with assigned team to ensure compliance with applicable state and university rules
- 15% Coordinate overall program operations by acting as liaison with internal and external stakeholders such as compliance, brand communications, alumni relations, F&B, etc.
- 5% Assist with recruiting efforts including on-campus visits.

Qualifications: | * Three or more years of intercollegiate athletics experience is preferred * Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills * Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and details effectively, while meeting established deadlines * The ability to effectively work in a fast-paced dynamic environment * Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ARMS and Teamworks preferred * An understanding of NCAA, Big Ten and University rules and regulations is preferred * Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel as needed, from August through May. |
