Position Summary:
The UCI Human Resources (HR) enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: Medical Center, Health Sciences, and Main Campus. UCI HR's vision is to empower people to drive a culture of innovation, learning, and service requirements that enables the success of individuals within the UCI community and those who aspire to join. The Talent Operations team is responsible for providing support for the entirety of the TA hiring cycle, utilizing a host of systems, resources, and processes to manage transactions necessary to facilitate both internal and external hiring. The team serves as a central resource for UCI while also working collaboratively with UCI local and UCOP departments to manage inquiries and transactions. The team also functions as the resident experts of the application tracking system, I-9 management, DocuSign New Employee Paperwork Packet, Live Scan, HireRight, and Service Now On-Boarding Inquiries. The team manages predictable and unpredictable hiring surges through implementation of process efficiencies or staff augmentation to ensure timely and accurate processing of hiring transactions.

The Talent Operations Supervisor will lead the team in the delivery of services that support the full cycle recruiting process. This includes processes and systems that are in place to support job posting, job posting management, candidate and hiring manager support, offer support, post offer / pre-employment actions, new employee orientation support, and I-9 completion and reverification. The leader will have responsibility for coaching, directing, mentoring, and supporting a mid-size team of TA Ops team members. Will also create a standard and customized work assignment schedule to address a variety of hiring scenarios. In support of the team's assigned work, the leader will design training for new team members, along with performance standards and metrics. The leader will also serve as the subject matter expert for hiring transactions that require knowledge of UCI or UC policies, along with federal, state, and local employment law. This role also includes management of vendor relationships and billing for systems and resources utilized in the delivery of post offer pre-employment tasks. Acts as the primary contact for escalated and critical hiring transactions, which may require responding to inquiries from various HR or business leaders from across the organization.
Compensation Range:
$90,000 - $105,000

Minimum of 4 years of HR or Talent Acquisition experience. Minimum of 2 years of formal leadership experience. Must have demonstrated expertise in standard hiring process and associated employment laws.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Solid understanding of process management. Working knowledge of employment law and practices, organizational policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of specialized area and understands how work impacts other areas in Human Resources and the campus. Solid understanding of common business tools such as PowerPoint, Excel (reports and pivot tables). Solid supervisory and operations management skills to coach and mentor staff and determine workload distribution. Solid understanding of HR technology and tools Solid collaboration and facilitation skills required to work with other areas of human resources as it relates to the employment function. Solid written and verbal communication skills to effectively advise a diverse employee population. Solid understanding of creating metrics and analytics Solid understanding of the unit goals and this position's role to support those goals.
Preferred:
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification or PHR or SPHR certification (preferred)
Special Conditions Required:
Position will be required to work between two UCI locations - Campus and UCI Medical Center. The incumbent must be able to provide their own means of transportation to/from work locations.
