Responsibilities This position is an integral part of the Department of Radiology management team and reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. This position serves as the operations manager, providing human resources and contractual oversight, and is responsible for all operations within the department related to school of medicine, including faculty credentialing, purchasing, academic personnel, faculty administrative support and all training and education programs.
Required Qualifications Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/ training
- Strong oral and written communication skills to create and initiate error free documents, including writing and editing skills to compose and proofread letters, financial statements, budget reports and other assigned documents, and to articulate information in a clear, concise, and visually attractive manner, creating error-free documents.
- Advanced word processing skills and experience including Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint.
- Positive attitude toward responsibilities, faculty and co-workers, and demonstrated ability to interact in a helpful, effective, and informative manner with a wide variety of people, using tact and diplomacy.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with the ability to extract and diagnose data.
Preferred Qualifications - Management skills to oversee daily operations of a large, complex academic department. The ability to evaluate and make necessary changes in organizational structures, workflow, and staffing to meet the changing needs of the department.
- Experience interpreting and applying University policy, collective bargaining agreements, and state and federal laws related to student, staff, and academic positions in areas of employment, affirmative action, benefits, worker's compensation, merit and promotion, salary administration, corrective action, conflict management, payroll, and disability management. Knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, FEHA, ADA, worker's compensation, pregnancy leave and other types of leaves of absence.
- Knowledge of medical education, residency and fellowship programs, including ACGME accreditation requirements and related UCDH policies and procedures preferred.
- Budget, accounting, and finance skills to provide support to the finance manager, perform UC Path actions and reconciliation of any payroll discrepancies or new funding entries. Knowledge of AggieService, Cognos, UCPath, BEATS, AggieBuy, AggieTravel, 360 and other University-related systems preferred.
Special Requirements - This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
