What will you be doing in this role?
Under direction of the Research Operations Manager, the Research Operations Associate manages functional activities in cooperation with the Division Director for the Center for Neural Science and Medicine (CNSM). Provides administrative support by implementing financial and operational activities for each group or department. Facilitates and implements the financial, grant management, operational and human resource activities. Additionally, interacts and coordinates with clinical and research managers and Principal Investigators (PI) across the institution.
- Develop and administer budgets and reconcile expenses. Authorize expenditures within established limits; supervise and monitor budget activities and analyze variances
- Performs all pre-award and post-award monthly financial projections, account reconciliations, cost transfers, progress reports, budget changes, salary allocation reviews, time and effort management reporting, purchase order reconciliation, and monitoring milestones for multiple projects, infrastructure, and grants
- Coordinates required components of employee recruitment and employment life cycle including overseeing job and status changes, assisting with international employee processing, department requirements for visa renewals and department orientation
- Serves as liaison for the PI with area supervisors, Manager/Director and HR Business Partner
- Responsible for tracking and reporting all high-level Capital/Research Operations projects
- Prepares complex or high-level regular and ad-hoc financial reports for management
- Acts as day-to-day administrative supervisor for CNSM Staff
Requirements:
Educational: High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years of business management experience in an academic research or healthcare environment.
Demonstrated experience in budget development or grant management.
