Plentywood Golf Club is announcing a full-time seasonal career opportunity for Golf Course Superintendent. Plentywood Golf Club is a member-owned public 9-hole golf course located in the Northeast corner of Montana in a small rural community.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
GENERAL - Golf Course Superintendent shall maintain all grounds, shop, and equipment operated by the Plentywood Golf Club
GREENS - Care shall include repairs, watering, mowing, trimming, cup placement, fertilizing, top dressing, aerating, winterizing, disease control, and other procedures necessary to keep greens in proper playing condition.
FAIRWAYS AN ROUGHS - Care shall include mowing, trimming, repairs, fertilizing, disease and pest control, watering and any other procedures deemed necessary to maintain proper playing conditions.
IRRIGATION SYSTEM - Golf Course Superintendent shall be responsible for repair and operation of all water control devices.
EQUIPMENT - Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for all equipment that is necessary to maintain the golf course to the established standards. Equipment shall be kept in good working order, and minor repairs and adjustments shall be done on a regular basis.
CHEMICALS - Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for the application of all chemicals (fertilizers and pesticides, including mosquito control) applied to the golf course. The Superintendent shall have and maintain any and all licenses necessary for the application of chemicals.
IMPROVEMENTS & PROJECTS - The Golf Course Superintendent shall undertake and oversee all golf course improvements and projects as determined by the Green Commitee.
RECORDS - Golf Course Superintendent shall keep a daily log or record book of activities as regards to course maintenance.
EMPLOYEES - Golf Course Superintendent shall act as the supervisor for the grounds crew and is responsible for issuing work schedules to employees. Golf Course Superintendent will direct the employees, giving day to day orders and assigning specific tasks to be performed.
EDUCATION - The Golf Course Superintendent shall participate in continuing education opportunities such as online courses, regional or state Superintendent meetings or seminars, and communication with neighboring course Superintendents. Any expenses can be approved by the Greens Chairman.
This can be an opportunity for someone fresh out of turf management school, experienced, or even someone that has a passion for the industry.
