Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Head Hockey Coach, the Director of Hockey Operations is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of the hockey office. The Hockey program will be conducted in accordance with all University, The Atlantic Hockey League and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules, regulations, and policies.

Essential Duties

• Coordinate team travel logistics for home and away competitions.


• Assist with the development of the annual travel budget and monitor all travel expenses in a fiscal year.


• Arrange team meals for home and away competitions.


• File all travel forms for away games as required by the NCAA.


• Daily operations work with the coaching staff with the flow of daily correspondence and day-to-day operations of running a hockey program.


• Assist in filing with the NCAA Eligibility Center for all prospective student-athletes.


• Responsible to upload all videos from games. Facilitate all post-game breakdowns and pre-scout needs.


• Create and edit individual student-athlete video needs. Responsible for all video equipment needed for road games.


• Prepare a monthly calendar for team events, practices, community service, marketing initiatives and media relations.


• Coordinate and organize the end-of-year banquet.

Other Duties

• Attend all hockey practices, home and away competitions.


• Complete all paperwork promptly regarding rosters, purchase orders, meal expenses, eligibility forms, reimbursements, and end-of-season reports.


• Aid the Athletic Training and Sports Information departments in getting material (from players or coaches) that they request.


• Meet regularly with Head Hockey Coach.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related discipline from an accredited four-year collegiate institution.


• 2+ years in a college, club and/or professional hockey support staff setting and/or coaching.


• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.


• Excellent analytical, time management and decision-making skills.


• Ability to work and/or travel, including evening, weekend, or limited overnight assignments.


• Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.

Physical Requirements

• Physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing throughout the day, using a loud voice at practices and events, and physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players.
