Institutional Securities Group (ISG) Product Operations encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading & Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales &Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations partners closely with Shared Services and Banking Operations as well as Branch Operations and Operations Risk & Control to deliver a connected 'front to back' view of operations to ISG Sales and Trading.
The NA Equity Swap Trade Support is part of the Global Equity Derivative Operations Group and provides full support for the Flow & Structured Equity Swaps business. Day to day responsibilities include the management of the hedge bookings and reconciliations between hedge, risk and swap, swap trade capture and validation, lifecycle event processing, exception management, related projects and project oversight for team initiatives.
As a middle office team we have extensive contact with Traders, Financial Controllers, Project teams, Client Service and Global Operations teams and IT along with other related areas that use the output of information from Equity Swap systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own particular client base, whilst also providing secondary cover to their colleagues clients where appropriate.
The role demands a close working relationship with the Business Units (trading desk and Prime Brokerage), Trading Assistants and Confirmations team.
- Management of Equity Swap and related hedges life cycle events, including trade amendments, corporate action and dividend events and allocations (control and client service). - Transaction reporting - EMIR and CFTC (control) - Risk to B&R reconciliation and issue resolution (control) - Responding to trading desk and client requests (client service) - Point of contact for the Equity swaps business for other operations areas e.g. Settlements, Corporate actions, Client money, Confirmations, Finance (client Service and control) - Supporting new trading initiatives. Proposing and implementing new processes and system enhancements, working with the project team and IT as necessary (change management). - The successful candidate will be expected to prove the majority of the following skills and to be capable of quickly learning the remainder: - Equity swaps product knowledge - Equities product knowledge Core operations skills including: - systems knowledge - accuracy - responsiveness to queries and understanding of escalation requirements - knowledge of accounting and books and records - understanding of trade settlement - Good spreadsheet skills - Problem solving capability
- Bachelor's degree required - 1 or more of the following: - Previous trade support experience - Previous experience of OTC derivatives with equity swaps experience preferable - Previous experience of corporate actions and dividends
Role is hybrid (3 days in the office)
