The Center for Health and Research Transformation (CHRT) promotes the delivery of evidence- based healthcare, the improvement of population health, and the expansion of access to care. The Research and Evaluation Project Manager will be responsible, under general supervision, for leading large and complex evaluation and research projects on a variety of topics such as health equity, social determinants of health, informal caregiving, behavioral health, substance use disorders and treatment. They are responsible for communications on project plans, budget, outcome measures / performance, and project deliverables, as the single point of contact for clients, project partners and other stakeholders.
The Project Manager will take projects from original concept to completion. Depending on experience and expertise, this includes working independently and/or under supervision to:
- Develops detailed evaluation plans and logic models, project work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; conducts project meetings and is responsible for progress monitoring and analysis; ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables; provides analytical and tactical guidance to project team.
- Conduct analysis to support the evaluation or research project as needed. This could include qualitative, quantitative, environmental scans and/or literature reviews.
- Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions for project-related problems.
- Duties will include, but not limited to, maintaining the project work plan to ensure all deadlines are met; building and managing key relationships to ensure clear and timely communication; monitoring multiple reporting deadlines; submitting deliverables and reports; identifying partner needs and developing strategies to address those needs; and maintaining regular communication with internal team, clients, project partners, and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for developing and monitoring project budgets and project performance to ensure financial and deliverable expectations are met.
- This individual must be comfortable working in a team environment and able to work with a diverse group of colleagues, clients, subject matter experts and project staff on an on-going basis. Project management skills and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines are a must.
- Master’s degree in public health or related field (with health policy or public health related focus).
- Senior: Minimum of 5 years’ related experience, including a working knowledge of research/ evaluation methods, statistics and key health policy issues. Expertise with behavioral health and/or substance use disorders a plus.
- Intermediate: Minimum of 3 years’ related experience, including a working knowledge of research/ evaluation methods, statistics and key health policy issues. Expertise with behavioral health and/or substance use disorders a plus.
- Experience preparing reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids.
- Demonstrated using qualitative methods such as key informant interviews and focus groups and analysis of qualitative data.
- Proficiency in working with analytical software (e.g., Excel, NVivo, SAS and/or SPSS);
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently within defined guidelines.
- Willingness to work in a highly interactive and collegial group of program managers and analysts.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and projects.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and develop creative solutions to overcome work-related challenges
- Demonstrated passion for health equity, diversity, equity and inclusion strategies in professional and research environments.
- Demonstrated quantitative skills and knowledge of descriptive statistics, statistical tests and statistical inference. Ability to analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data using descriptive and inferential statistical methods.
- Data visualization training and skills
- Survey methods, quantitative analysis
- Grant writing and seeking grant-funded opportunities is preferred.
- Experience with developing sampling designs, power analysis, questionnaire or interview guide development
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Presentation of research results to key audiences
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
